Primary Care Physician Assistant - Full-Time Position

Trinity Health is seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant (PA) to join our dynamic team at our Primary Care outpatient office located in Temple, Texas. Work Environment

You will be working onsite within our hospital structure, ensuring direct interaction with patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers. The office operates Monday through Friday, with typical hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, providing a structured work schedule that encourages a healthy work-life balance. The collaborative environment includes a supportive team of 5 physicians and 5 nurse practitioners, with whom you will work closely to develop treatment plans and enhance patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

As a Physician Assistant, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Conducting thorough physical examinations and taking comprehensive patient histories.
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests such as blood tests and imaging to inform clinical decision-making.
• Diagnosing a wide range of health conditions and establishing effective treatment plans.
• Proposing and implementing treatments for both chronic and infectious diseases, promoting overall health and wellness.
• Prescribing appropriate medications as part of patient management.
• Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records to ensure continuity of care.
• Providing education to patients and their families regarding health conditions, medication regimens, and preventative measures.
• Monitoring and overseeing patients’ overall health, ensuring adherence to treatment plans and addressing any emerging concerns.
• Participating in case discussions and collaborative care strategies to enhance patient outcomes.
• Engaging in ongoing professional development and contributing to research initiatives within the facility.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position primarily focuses on a diverse patient population within a primary care context. You will be responsible for caring for individuals of all ages, managing acute illnesses, chronic disease management, and preventive care. Developing trusting relationships with patients will be essential, as you will serve as both a health practitioner and educator to enhance their understanding of health and wellness.

Qualifications

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies or a related field.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Physician Assistant in a clinical, hospital, or urgent care setting.
• Current certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) and a valid Texas State Physician Assistant license.
• A DEA number is required for prescribing medications.
• Proficient knowledge of health care regulations, patient care protocols, and best practices in primary care.
• Strong communication skills, a commitment to teamwork, and a proactive approach to patient care.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a patient-centered mindset.

Preferred Experience

Experience in primary care specialties such as internal medicine, acute care, and urgent care will be highly valued. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply but it is not a mandatory requirement.
