Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our state-of-the-art surgical center in Cincinnati, where you will work alongside a team of expert orthopaedic surgeons and medical professionals. The atmosphere is collaborative, focusing on innovation and quality patient care without the distractions of weekend shifts. Your work schedule will be Monday to Friday, comprising 8-hour shifts, allowing you to maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver advanced clinical care to orthopaedic patients, working closely under the supervision of specialty physicians.
• Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including taking medical histories, performing physical examinations, and crafting detailed treatment plans.
• Interpret radiology reports and laboratory results to inform diagnoses and therapeutic strategies effectively.
• Administer preventive, therapeutic, and procedural care, and write prescriptions as necessary.
• Assist surgeons during operative and non-operative treatments, contributing to patient management during inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Manage follow-up care and rehabilitation processes for patients post-procedure, ensuring continuous support throughout their recovery journeys.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physician Assistant role focuses on patients experiencing a broad spectrum of orthopaedic conditions, including acute injuries, chronic disorders, and post-operative care. You will engage with a diverse clientele, from athletes with sports-related injuries to elderly patients requiring joint replacements. Your ability to provide empathetic and effective care will play a vital role in their recovery and quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program is required.
• Current state licensure as a Physician Assistant in Ohio.
• National certification as a Physician Assistant (NCCPA).
• DEA Certificate is required within three months of hire.
• A minimum of one year of recent clinical experience in orthopaedic specialty care is essential.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in managing urgent referrals and providing wound care is highly desirable.
• Hands-on knowledge of orthopaedic procedures and post-operative care.
• Strong communication skills to engage effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members.
• Demonstrated capability in assisting during surgical procedures is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits
