Work Environment

The Physician Assistant will work onsite at our fully equipped hospital facility. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial evaluations for patients who have experienced personal injuries, ensuring accurate assessments to guide treatment plans.
• Prescribe appropriate medications, including NSAIDs, muscle relaxers, and medicated patches, based on clinical guidelines and individual patient needs.
• Order and interpret necessary diagnostic imaging, such as MRIs, to assist in formulating comprehensive care strategies.
• Utilize telehealth platforms to expand accessibility for follow-up consultations, allowing for convenient and timely healthcare delivery.
• Create and manage patient referrals to physical therapists and specialists, particularly in pain management, ensuring a coordinated approach to treatment.
• Maintain and document patient medical records in strict compliance with HIPAA regulations, safeguarding patient privacy while ensuring accurate information flow within the healthcare team.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and specialists, to enhance overall patient care and improve health outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physician Assistant will work with a diverse patient population, primarily focusing on those experiencing pain management issues related to personal injuries. Our patients come from various backgrounds, and the PA will play a pivotal role in addressing their unique healthcare needs. Sensitivity to the emotional and physical challenges faced by patients is essential to fostering trust and adherence to treatment plans.

Qualifications

• A current, unrestricted Physician Assistant license in the state of New York.
• A Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
• Certification as a Physician Assistant by a nationally recognized medical certifying body.
• Proficiency in medical documentation standards and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, necessary to build rapport and trust with patients and their families.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in pain management or a closely related field is preferred to ensure the PA is well-equipped to handle the complexities of treatment in this area.

Compensation and Benefits
