Work Environment

As a Physician Assistant within our organization, you will work primarily onsite in a hospital environment, marked by a fast-paced and supportive atmosphere. The Urgent Care department operates Monday through Friday, with a structured schedule from 5:00 PM to midnight, encompassing a total of 40 hours per week. You will enjoy collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals, all focused on delivering timely and effective care to patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient examinations and perform thorough reviews of medical histories and records to understand the context of each patient's health.
• Order and interpret a variety of diagnostic tests such as blood work, X-rays, and other imaging studies to establish accurate diagnoses.
• Diagnose and manage a range of acute medical conditions and illnesses, ensuring appropriate treatment protocols are followed.
• Develop and implement tailored treatment plans for patients with chronic health conditions, aiming for continuity of care and adherence to best practices.
• Prescribe medications, ensuring proper dosages and monitoring for therapeutic effectiveness and patient tolerance.
• Ensure meticulous maintenance of patient records and schedules using electronic health record systems, facilitating efficient clinical workflows.
• Educate patients and their families on health management, disease prevention strategies, and lifestyle modifications to support long-term wellness.
• Encourage and promote health literacy among patients, equipping them with the knowledge to manage their health proactively.
• Engage in continuous professional development by participating in training, staying updated with medical advancements, and contributing to research initiatives.

Qualifications

• A Master's Degree in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program is required.
• A valid state license to practice as a Physician Assistant is mandatory, along with a passing score on the national certifying examination.
• Demonstrated experience as a Physician Assistant, preferably in an urgent care, emergency room, or hospital setting.
• Expertise in both primary and acute care practices, showcasing your versatility in dealing with various medical scenarios.
• Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare regulations, patient safety, and ethical standards is essential.
• Strong interpersonal skills with excellent communication abilities, enabling effective interactions with patients and healthcare team members.
• A commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care with a focus on ethical practices.
• Ability to maintain composure and deliver care judiciously under pressure, particularly in fast-paced environments.
• DEA number is required for prescribing medications.

Preferred Experience

• Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record systems for managing patient data efficiently.
• Experience working with diverse populations, and familiarity with bilingual communication is a plus but not mandatory.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from $120,000 to $150,000, commensurate with experience. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including:
