Key Responsibilities

As a Physician Assistant at Silver Cross Family Hospital, you will be responsible for:

• Conducting comprehensive physical examinations and obtaining detailed medical histories to assess both the physical and mental conditions of patients.
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, including laboratory evaluations, to effectively evaluate patient health and inform treatment planning.
• Prescribing medications, recommending therapeutic interventions, and performing approved medical procedures per established protocols to ensure patient safety and efficacy.
• Formulating and implementing individualized, outcome-based treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary team members, utilizing evidence-based practices and professional guidelines.
• Educating patients and their families about medical processes, managing health conditions, nutrition, and health promotion, while addressing concerns related to drug regimens and potential side effects.
• Maintaining detailed patient records documenting treatment plans and outcomes, and facilitating timely referrals when necessary to support comprehensive care.
• Providing consultation services specific to your medical specialty and training, contributing to our commitment to achieving excellent patient outcomes.
• Managing patients in various healthcare settings beyond a primary clinic, including inpatient care and procedural environments, adapting treatment strategies as appropriate.
• Performing relevant invasive procedures within your scope of practice as directed by supervising Physicians, ensuring adherence to hospital protocols.
• Being flexible with your schedule, including potential extra hours as required by department needs to ensure adequate patient care coverage.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role caters to a diverse patient population, ranging from outpatient to inpatient cases, with a focus on cardiology and related surgical specialties. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies or a comparable field from an accredited institution.
• A minimum of 1 year of relevant clinical experience as a Physician Assistant, preferably in a surgical or cardiology setting.
• Current licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant in the state of Ohio, along with national certification.
• Strong knowledge of clinical procedures, symptoms, and interventions related to cardiology and surgical care.

Preferred Experience

While not required, candidates with previous experience in a surgical center or cardiology clinic will be preferred. Additional specialties in areas such as critical care or emergency medicine may enhance your candidacy.

Compensation and Benefits
