Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical and mental health assessments by performing detailed physical examinations and obtaining comprehensive medical histories from patients.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory results, imaging studies, and additional evaluations, to formulate accurate clinical assessments.
• Prescribe and manage medications and therapeutic treatments tailored to individual patient needs, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and best practices.
• Formulate comprehensive, outcomes-based treatment plans utilizing evidence-based practices in partnership with supervising physicians and healthcare teams.
• Educate and counsel patients and their families regarding medical conditions, treatment options, medication regimens, and lifestyle modifications.
• Document patient care activities diligently to maintain accurate medical records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
• Provide consultation-level services related to cardiology, leveraging your specialized training to address diverse patient issues.
• Engage in continuous learning and professional development to stay abreast of advancements in cardiology and related fields.
• Assume additional responsibilities as needed, including potential after-hours coverage to meet department demands.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily serve a diverse patient population, including adults with various cardiovascular conditions, patients recovering from surgical procedures, and those receiving preventive care. Your role will be critical in ensuring that each patient receives individualized attention, education, and support, contributing to their overall health and quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• A valid PA license and current certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a clinical setting, preferably within a cardiac or surgical environment.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare teams and communicate clearly with patients and families.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a surgical or cardiology setting is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical documentation best practices.
• Strong background in patient education and counseling, particularly regarding chronic disease management.

Compensation and Benefits

Holy Cross Memorial Hospital offers a competitive salary range of USD 140,000 to 180,000 per year, commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, retirement savings plans, paid time off, and opportunities for continuing education and professional development.
