This position offers an annual salary ranging from USD 140,000 to 180,000, commensurate with experience, and includes a comprehensive benefits package. Work Environment

Our emergency department operates on a Monday to Friday schedule from 5:00 PM to 1:00 AM, with a total of 40 hours per week. Key Responsibilities

• Respond to trauma alerts effectively and assess patients’ conditions promptly upon arrival.
• Stabilize critically injured patients and provide immediate life-saving interventions to prevent further deterioration of their health.
• Assist in resuscitation efforts during emergencies, providing essential support to the medical team.
• Coordinate interprofessional care by collaborating closely with the trauma team to devise comprehensive treatment plans.
• Conduct thorough physical examinations and interpret diagnostic results to inform treatment decisions.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by supervising physicians
• Engage with patients and their families to educate them about trauma care processes and recovery pathways.
• Participate in the transfer of trauma patients to appropriate hospital units or facilities when necessary.
• Monitor and manage each patient’s pain and discomfort throughout their emergency care experience.
• Maintain adherence to infection control and safety protocols to uphold the highest standards of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will directly engage with a diverse patient population that includes individuals suffering from traumatic injuries resulting from accidents, falls, or violence. Developing an understanding of the psychosocial dynamics impacting these patients is crucial for effective communication and care delivery. Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, followed by completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current state licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant in Pennsylvania.

• Proficient in trauma assessment and stabilization techniques.
• Strong clinical and diagnostic skills in a high-pressure trauma setting.

Preferred Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of prior experience in emergency medicine or trauma care strongly preferred.
• Awareness and proficiency in trauma-specific medications and interventions.
• Experience in documenting patient care and treatment plans using electronic health record systems.
• Knowledge of infection control practices as they apply to trauma care.
