As a hospital-affiliated Podiatrist, you’ll provide comprehensive foot and ankle care to patients with a wide variety of conditions—from chronic diseases and wounds to acute injuries and post-operative needs. You’ll also play a vital role in hospital-based consults, surgical interventions, and limb salvage programs.
Salary: $120,000-$140,000 per year + benefits
Work Hours: Monday - Friday (9 AM – 5 PM)
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat conditions related to the foot, ankle, and lower extremity
- Provide surgical and non-surgical treatment plans for acute and chronic podiatric issues
- Manage diabetic foot care, ulcers, infections, and wound healing in collaboration with vascular, endocrinology, and wound care teams
- Perform hospital rounds and consults for inpatients with foot-related complications
- Participate in multidisciplinary case reviews, limb salvage initiatives, and post-op care coordination
- Educate patients on prevention, footwear, and lifestyle adjustments
- Maintain accurate records in the electronic medical system
- Supervise podiatric residents (if in a teaching facility)
Requirements:
- Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) from an accredited program
- Licensed to practice podiatry in New York State (or eligibility to obtain)
- Completion of a PM&S-36 or equivalent surgical residency
- Board certified or board eligible (ABPM, ABFAS)
- Strong clinical acumen in both conservative and surgical podiatry
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and team collaboration skills
- Experience in a hospital or multidisciplinary setting preferred
