Job Description
The Practice Coordinator oversees registration, scheduling, coding, and revenue cycle operations across centralized and decentralized sites. Responsibilities include financial analysis, policy evaluation, staff training, and operational support. The role involves collaboration with IT, CBO, physicians, and administrators to ensure revenue goals are met, while also analyzing and presenting financial data, resolving operational issues, and implementing action plans. The Practice Management department supports behavioral health ambulatory areas with all facets of patient access, registration, and clinical support.
Responsibilities:
Operational Oversight
- Monitor and meet benchmarks for scheduling, point-of-service, and template management.
- Assist in setting quarterly/yearly goals and developing policies for Registration/Scheduling and Patient Business Services.
- Provide backup coverage during staff absences to maintain workflow continuity.
Staff Development & Supervision
- Identify training needs and coordinate with Education and Training for staff development.
- Schedule employee orientation and ongoing training programs.
- Participate in hiring and performance evaluations; conduct random audits and address performance issues.
Patient Experience & Communication
- Foster a patient-centric culture aligned with consumerism initiatives.
- Maintain open communication with UPP Management regarding system updates and regulatory changes.
- Coordinate with Information Services on system enhancements and staff training.
Revenue Cycle & Financial Analysis
- Analyze and resolve issues in registration, financial counseling, coding, charge entry, and collections.
- Perform A/R trending and financial analysis on collections and payer denials.
- Support documentation and implementation of system enhancements to improve billing and reimbursement.
- Bachelors Degree and 2 years healthcare experience with 1 year management experience
OR
- Associates Degree and 2 years healthcare experience with 1 year of management
OR
- High School Diploma and 3 years healthcare experience with 1 year of management experience
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
