Work Environment

Our Diagnostic Imaging Center is equipped with the latest imaging technologies and fosters a collaborative work atmosphere. The work schedule primarily consists of Monday to Friday evening shifts with rotating weekends and on-call responsibilities, ensuring that our team is flexible and responsive to the needs of our patients. Key Responsibilities

• Perform general diagnostic imaging techniques and examinations in accordance with the protocols established by the radiologist, ensuring high-quality output for diagnostic interpretation.
• Maintain diligent attention to patients during examinations, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the imaging process.
• Produce optimal radiographs while adhering to productivity standards, utilizing a variety of diagnostic equipment including c-arms, portable units, and fluoroscopy.
• Select appropriate technical factors and restrain devices required for each exam, operating equipment effectively to deliver clear images.
• Identify, develop, and digitize patient films, while upholding proper documentation and record-keeping practices.
• Ensure accurate patient identification on all films, maintaining compliance with safety standards at all times.
• Participate in ongoing professional development through formal in-service training and actively promote education within the team.
• Address and report any staffing or operational issues to the Lead Technologist, fostering a culture of teamwork and support.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Diagnostic Imaging Center primarily serves a pediatric population, requiring an understanding of the specific needs and sensitivities of children. Your role will involve not only technical skill but also a compassionate approach to ensure a positive patient experience. You will be pivotal in easing the concerns of both young patients and their families while delivering high-quality diagnostics.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field is required.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a radiology setting is essential.
• Certification as a Radiographer (R) from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross within 90 days of hire.
• Strong understanding of radiation safety regulations and practices.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in a pediatric radiology environment is preferred.
• Proficiency in operating advanced imaging technology and electronic health record systems.
• Demonstrated ability to engage with children and their families to create a reassuring environment.

• Annual salary ranging from $70,000 to $100,000, based on experience.
