Work Environment

This full-time position is onsite at our Surgical Center, allowing for direct interaction with patients and collaboration with a team of medical professionals. The work schedule is set for Monday and Wednesday or Monday and Thursday from 9 AM to 5 PM, enabling a harmonious work-life balance, as there is no requirement for night or weekend shifts, nor are there on-call responsibilities. Key Responsibilities

As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will carry out essential duties that are vital to the operational effectiveness of our facility:

• Execute functional and perfusion rest and stress cardiac studies; process diagnostic images for physician review.
• Implement and adhere to all relevant policies and procedures, including daily quality control, radiation safety protocols, equipment operations, and isotope transport techniques.
• Utilize aseptic techniques to initiate IVs and administer prescribed isotopes and pharmaceuticals, in compliance with national standards and internal protocols.
• Ensure rigorous adherence to federal, state, and local regulatory requirements while maintaining superior patient safety and testing quality.
• Complete daily quality control checks on imaging equipment and document necessary NRC/state forms accurately.
• Conduct thorough documentation of patients’ test results and medical histories through our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, along with any additional administrative tasks that arise.
• Possibly engage in mobile operations, which entails transporting imaging equipment and pharmaceuticals using company vehicles, setting up procedures at client sites, and responsibly managing medical waste disposal.
• Exhibit a strong commitment to delivering exemplary customer service consistently, keeping our patients at the forefront of every action taken.
• Travel to client sites as required while adhering to Radiation Safety and DOT regulations.
• Other responsibilities as assigned to meet the evolving needs of the department and organization.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In your role as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will primarily serve a diverse patient population within the cardiology outpatient specialty. You will be responsible for interacting with patients undergoing cardiac imaging procedures, ensuring their comfort, addressing any concerns, and guiding them through the testing process. By delivering personalized and compassionate care, you will play a critical role in enhancing the patient experience and contributing to the overall mission of ensuring better health outcomes.

Qualifications

To qualify for this role, candidates must possess:

• An active New York State NMTCB or ARRT(N) licensure, or completion of an accredited nuclear medicine program with pending certification.
• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact positively with patients and team members.
• Physical capabilities to push/pull medical equipment as a team when needed.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of one year of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist is required, candidates with prior experience in a fast-paced outpatient or surgical center environment will be given preference. Familiarity with EMR systems and patient documentation practices will be considered an advantage.
