Assists Radiologists and Cardiologists in scheduling and performing procedures. Performs both diagnostic and invasive Cardiac and Radiologic procedures. Call is required. Hours may vary upon case load to maintain productivity standards.
Performs vascular and cardiac procedures obtaining consistently high-quality images and adhere to sterile techniques; functions as scrub assistant during procedures. Knowledgeable of all supplies stocked in Cath lab i.e., catheters, guide wires, PTA balloon cath., I.V. solutions, intervention cardiac supplies (PTCA, stents) etc. assisting in maintaining Cath lab supply levels within budgeted levels. Maintains a high level of consciousness for quality patient care and professional attitude of special procedures/cardiac team. Knowledgeable in operation of equipment not limited to digital console, processors, recording films, monitoring equipment, digital archiving and processing equipment etc. Can recognize problems and notify service. Assists RN in preparing and monitoring patients by recognizing abnormal values and cardiac/vital sign abnormalities.
ARRT registry and/or RCIS or CVT registration required. On the job training available to ARRT Radiology Technologist. BLS certification required. ALS certification is required within six (6) months of employment. One years prior Cath Lab experience preferred, not a requirement. One year of patient care experience preferred, not a requirement. On call time required and must be able to respond within 30 minutes. Basic computer skills required.
