SUMMARY

The Registered Nurse delivers clinically competent care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. The R.N. effectively interacts with the patient, significant others, and other health team members while maintaining standards of professional nursing.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Previous experience in patient care setting required. Knowledgeable regarding the nursing process and its application, including the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid registration as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan. Current BLS and ALS certification. Continuing education in accordance with the State of Michigan.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as physician orders, exam reports, operating

and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and safety rules. Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.


REASONING ABILITY

Ability to analyze patient care situations and adapt actions/procedures based on the

conditions of the patient.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Well lighted, comfortable working environment. Possible exposure to patients with infectious diseases. Occasional fluctuation in work schedule to meet patient/department/organizational needs. Concentration on details with frequent interruptions/distractions
