Job Summary:
This recruitment is open at the Hospice RN I and Hospice RN II levels, and will be filled at the appropriate level for the successful candidate.
Hospice is an excellent opportunity to provide much needed care in our community. Care through the Hospice department is delivered directly in the homes of the patients we serve, working with both the patients themselves and their support networks. This is the ideal setting for caring and compassionate staff who are motivated by independent work in a variety of settings and levels of care.
Hospice RN I: The Hospice RN I independently plans and implements routine nursing care in predictable situations using standards and knowledge obtained during education and preceptorship. The Hospice RN I begins to assume leadership responsibility and works under general supervision. A Hospice RN administers skilled nursing care to patients on an intermittent basis in their place of residence. This is performed in accordance with physician orders and plans of care under the direction and supervision of the Hospice Manager
Hospice RN II: A Hospice RN II is an advanced level nurse who renders individualized comprehensive nursing care to meet the patient's physical, psychological, spiritual, social, cultural, and educational needs. The Hospice RN II provides the best possible preventative, supportive, and rehabilitative nursing care to each patient based upon the nursing process and in accordance with hospital policies and procedures. A Hospice RN administers skilled nursing care to patients on an intermittent basis in their place of residence. This is performed in accordance with physician orders and plans of care under the direction and supervision of the Hospice Clinical Manager.
Minimum Qualifications for the Job:
Hospice RN I- Education: Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program. BSN preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of continuous experience in a comparable patient care setting. Hospice experience preferred.
- License(s): Current State of Alaska Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Certification(s): Basic Life Support (BLS). Valid driver's license, current auto liability insurance and reliable transportation is required at time of appointment.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program. BSN preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of current experience in a comparable patient care setting, or one (1) year of experience as a Bartlett RN. Hospice experience preferred.
- License(s): Current State of Alaska Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Certification(s): Basic Life Support (BLS). Valid driver's license, current auto liability insurance and reliable transportation is required at time of appointment.
Internal Hires: Pay rate will be determined based on applicable personnel rule or union contract terms.
External Hires: Step placement and rate of pay will be determined based upon relevant experience.- Hospice RN I starts at $44.09 per hour and up depending on experience.
- Hospice RN II starts at $46.29 per hour and up depending on experience.
