Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and psychological health to create tailored care plans.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments, ensuring accuracy in dosing and timing while maintaining meticulous documentation.
• Monitor vital signs and health status, recognizing any variations that necessitate immediate nursing interventions.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding disease processes, treatment options, and self-care strategies.
• Assist with pain management and apply appropriate interventions to maximize patient comfort and quality of life.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive and continuous care, especially during crucial changes in patient health.
• Respond efficiently to emergencies, applying critical nursing skills to stabilize patient conditions.
• Document all nursing care and patient interactions accurately using our electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Perform wound care and related interventions with an emphasis on preventing infection and promoting healing.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on patients requiring hospice care, many of whom face complex health challenges. You will work closely with patients dealing with terminal illnesses, providing tailored support that addresses both physical and emotional needs while assisting their families during incredibly sensitive times. Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
• A valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in accordance with Virginia state regulations.
• A minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience, preferably in hospice or palliative care settings.
• Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Basic Life Support (BLS) is advantageous.
• Excellent critical thinking skills, with the ability to make swift, informed decisions in high-pressure situations.
• Proficiency in employing nursing procedures, utilizing healthcare technologies, and navigating electronic health records (EHR).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective interactions with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in hospice, palliative care, or pain management settings is highly desirable.
• Specialty certifications such as the Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse (CHPN) will elevate a candidate's profile.
• Demonstrated ability to advocate for patient needs and preferences, ensuring a patient-centered care approach.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $70,000 to $160,000 annually, commensurate with experience and demonstrated performance. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:
