Ocean Skilled Nursing Rehabilitation in Laredo, Texas, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to become an essential member of our healthcare team within our Hospice Center. Key Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor patient conditions, utilizing both clinical judgment and diagnostic tools to assess needs and ensure personalized care.
• Carefully observe and interpret patient symptoms, effectively communicating critical information to physicians to inform treatment plans.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in coordination with physicians and other healthcare professionals, ensuring alignment with each patient’s unique goals and values.
• Conduct routine procedures such as taking vital signs, administering medications, injections, and ensuring that patient records are accurately maintained.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, adjusting dosages as needed based on ongoing patient assessments.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and safety by routinely inspecting and sanitizing equipment and patient areas to prevent infections.
• Provide immediate and competent medical care during emergencies, demonstrating poise and decision-making under pressure.
• Assist during surgical procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation by preparing the surgical environment and aiding surgeons as needed.
• Offer mentorship and supervision to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and nursing assistants, fostering a culture of learning and teamwork.
• Create a compassionate and supportive atmosphere that involves patients’ families in caregiving processes, offering guidance, and emotional assistance.
• Participate in continuous education and professional development opportunities to expand your nursing knowledge and enhance your skills.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Registered Nurse at our Hospice Center, you will primarily work with patients who are coping with terminal illnesses. This includes providing palliative care that prioritizes comfort, dignity, and respect for each patient’s preferences. Your role will involve not only managing physical symptoms but also addressing the emotional and spiritual needs of patients and their families, ensuring a comprehensive approach to end-of-life care.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• A valid nursing license in the state of Texas.
• Demonstrated experience in a nursing role, preferably within a hospice or palliative care setting.
• Thorough knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures as well as emergency care protocols.
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations, including infection control practices.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, showcasing your compassion and teamwork.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in hospice or home health settings with a focus on end-of-life care.
• Prior supervisory or mentoring experience with nursing staff or assistants.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other healthcare technologies.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from USD 80,000 to 180,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to financial compensation, our comprehensive benefits package includes:
