Key Responsibilities

• Perform various ultrasound procedures, including abdominal, vascular, and obstetrical exams, with an emphasis on precision and thoroughness. For instance, you might conduct a vascular ultrasound to evaluate blood flow and detect vascular anomalies, guiding physicians in their treatment decisions.
• Prepare patients for ultrasound procedures by providing clear explanations, emotional support, and ensuring their continuous comfort and safety during the exams.
• Calibrate and maintain ultrasound equipment to ensure optimal functioning, making real-time adjustments as needed to enhance image quality.
• Evaluate and analyze generated images, making interpretations to determine if further imaging or testing is necessary, facilitating prompt and accurate clinical diagnoses.
• Engage in collaborative discussions with physicians and medical staff to relay findings and inform treatment plans, becoming an integral part of the diagnostic and treatment team.
• Document all patient interactions and imaging results accurately, remaining compliant with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
• Stay informed about advancements in ultrasound technology and imaging techniques, participating in continuous learning and professional development opportunities.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role directly impacts a diverse patient population, including expectant mothers requiring prenatal ultrasounds, patients with vascular conditions, and individuals seeking diagnostic clarity for various health concerns. You will employ a person-centered approach, ensuring that each patient receives individualized care tailored to their unique circumstances.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Active registration and certification with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
• State licensure as a Registered Vascular Technologist, ensuring compliance with local regulations governing practice.
• Proficiency in handling ultrasound and plethysmography equipment, supported by at least one year of hands-on experience in a clinical setting.
• Physical capability to lift and assist patients, as well as to operate imaging equipment and navigate the medical environment effectively.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a diagnostic imaging center that focuses on vascular ultrasound procedures is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems to streamline patient documentation and reporting.
