Job Description
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Act as the dedicated billing analyst over the RCM (Billing) department
- Create, maintain, and improve dashboards, reports, and KPIs related to collections, denials, coding, AR aging, and claim lifecycle
- Deliver insights that help improve revenue performance and operational efficiency
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define and standardize key RCM metrics and benchmarks
- Proactively identify data-driven opportunities for process improvement
- Help shape the department's reporting maturity by introducing canonical RCM metrics
- Support related teams (e.g., finance/accounting/Ops) with ad hoc analysis
What You Need:
- 5+ years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle management and/or billing.
- 4+ years of experience in a data analyst role, ideally supporting RCM or operations teams
- Strong SQL skills; able to independently write queries and manipulate data from relational databases
- Deep understanding of RCM workflows, including claims submission, denials, payment posting, and AR management
- Proven ability to define and track key RCM performance indicators (e.g., Clean Claim Rate, Denial Rate, Days in AR)
- Strong communication skills—able to translate technical data into insights for non-technical stakeholders
- Prior employment at medical billing services, RCM Vendors, Third Party Billing servicers, or EHR software companies with a focus on billing and claims management
- Familiarity with canonical RCM metrics and industry benchmarks, and a track record of using them to improve performance
- Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW)—especially working with its data or configuring billing features
- Understanding of healthcare compliance, payer policies, and common billing/coding challenges
