Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of students' emotional and psychological needs, taking into consideration their historical background, presenting issues, and academic challenges.
• Provide evidence-based therapy services to individuals, couples, and families, employing interventions tailored to each unique situation, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness practices.
• Collaborate with educational staff to create personalized treatment plans that align with students' goals and monitor their progress over time.
• Maintain professional documentation in accordance with best practices and regulatory standards, ensuring accuracy in treatment records and client interactions.
• Engage in ongoing professional development, keeping abreast of advancements in therapeutic practices and integrating new strategies into your work.

• Provide guidance, coping strategies, and resources to clients as they face various life transitions and challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The LCSW will primarily work with a diverse student population in the Galveston area, addressing a wide range of mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, and relationship challenges. Many clients will be experiencing stressors related to academic pressures and personal conflicts, necessitating a comprehensive and empathetic approach to treatment.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• Current and active licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Texas.
