Key Responsibilities

• Act as a vital liaison between families, students, and outpatient providers to facilitate communication and coordinated care.
• Engage with insurance providers to navigate pre-certification requirements and manage utilization effectively, ensuring clients receive necessary services.
• Participate actively in discharge planning and aftercare initiatives, ensuring continued support and resources are in place for students transitioning from intensive care settings.
• Support students with therapeutic meal guidance, fostering a healthy relationship with food while addressing any emotional or psychological concerns related to eating.
• Deliver empathetic and affirming care tailored to the unique identities and circumstances of each client, ensuring inclusivity and respect in all interactions.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position primarily serves school-aged children and adolescents, focusing on promoting mental health awareness, resilience, and coping strategies. Our diverse clientele includes students from various backgrounds, each with distinct needs related to their emotional and psychological well-being. The LCSW will play a critical role in identifying mental health issues early and providing supportive interventions that empower clients and their families.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution is required.
• Possession of a valid LCSW license in the state of Texas is essential.
• Experience working specifically with older adults is preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills are necessary to adequately address the needs of clients effectively.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are required to engage with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
