Clinical Social Worker - School-Based Mental Health - Remote Opportunity

Work Environment

This role is predominantly remote, allowing you the flexibility to work from home or another location of your choice while still being connected to your school-based teams. You will collaborate with diverse professionals, including educators and healthcare providers, ensuring a holistic approach to student mental health. Your role may also involve occasional in-person meetings and engagements, tailored to enhance your teamwork and integration within local school districts.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough and unbiased psychosocial assessments to evaluate the mental health needs of students, applying your education, training, and clinical experience.
• Work collaboratively with students to develop personalized treatment plans that address their specific mental health challenges and goals.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic practices such as solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, behavioral activation, and problem-solving therapy to facilitate positive therapeutic outcomes.
• Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with teachers, school administrators, and other healthcare professionals to promote an integrated approach to each student's health and well-being.
• Monitor patients’ progress regularly, methodically assessing their responses to therapeutic interventions, whether conducted in-person or via telehealth sessions.
• Assist in the management of any psychotropic medications as prescribed, focusing on adherence to treatment protocols while providing education on potential side effects and interventions.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on a diverse student population within school settings in Miami, Florida. You will assist students experiencing various mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and trauma-related symptoms. Your expertise will help create a therapeutic environment where students feel safe and supported in navigating their mental health journeys.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited program is mandatory.
• You must possess a current, valid, and unrestricted license to practice independently as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of Florida.
• A minimum of 1 year of professional experience as an independently licensed therapist specializing in mental health treatment is required.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in a school-based setting or with adolescent populations is highly desirable, as it enhances your ability to connect with students effectively.
• Familiarity with evidence-based psychological assessments and treatment modalities tailored to young clients would be an asset.
• Proficient in using telehealth technologies and virtual communication platforms to facilitate remote patient care.

Compensation and Benefits
