Work Environment

This full-time LISW position is uniquely structured as a remote role, allowing you to work effectively from home while still engaging directly with students in local schools. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments to identify students’ mental health needs and strengths, ensuring tailored support plans are developed.
• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy, to individuals and groups in the school environment.
• Collaborate closely with a team of psychiatrists, special educators, school counselors, and other professionals to coordinate care and address any barriers to students’ success.
• Educate students and families about mental health diagnoses, potential treatment options, and available resources, ensuring that they are informed and involved in the care process.
• Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions while utilizing a variety of evidence-based modalities tailored to diverse learning and emotional needs.
• Develop personalized treatment plans in partnership with the treatment team, integrating input from students and their families to set achievable goals.
• Assist students in navigating the complexities of mental health systems, acting as an advocate for their rights and ensuring they receive the necessary support.
• Organize and lead therapeutic groups, psychoeducation sessions, and discharge planning meetings to promote continuity of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role will focus on serving students in a school setting, typically ranging from elementary to high school age. You will address a wide array of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma-informed care, and behavioral issues. Your support will be instrumental in helping students develop coping strategies, improve their emotional regulation, and boost their academic performance.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• Active and unrestricted state licensure as a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW).
• In-depth knowledge of mental health disorders, treatment methodologies, and crisis intervention techniques applicable to youth.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and to engage sensitively with students and families.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience working within school settings, particularly in mental health roles, is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with telehealth practices and technology, which will be integral in delivering remote therapy sessions.
• Experience with documentation and compliance processes in mental health treatment, ensuring adherence to applicable laws and regulations.

Compensation and Benefits
