Work Environment

As this position is performed remotely, you will have the flexibility to manage your schedule while ensuring that students receive the necessary support. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify the psychosocial needs of students, using validated assessment tools and frameworks specific to school settings.
• Collaborate with educators, school administrators, and parents to develop and implement individualized treatment and intervention plans aimed at addressing students' behavioral and emotional difficulties.
• Provide one-on-one and group counseling sessions to students, employing evidence-based techniques and therapeutic approaches.
• Act as an advocate for students, assisting them and their families in accessing community resources and support services.
• Monitor and document progress, maintaining detailed records of all interactions, treatment plans, and assessments in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and tailor interventions as necessary.
• Educate students and families about mental health issues, available resources, coping strategies, and resiliency-building techniques.
• Respond to crisis situations with prompt intervention, providing immediate support to students and coordinating with emergency services when necessary.
• Stay informed about developments in educational policies, social work practices, and mental health trends relevant to school-age populations.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution is required.
• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
• Minimum of two years of experience as a social worker, preferably in school-based or community settings.
• Sound knowledge of social work principles, child development, and community resources available for families.
• Strong assessment and counseling abilities, particularly in working with children and adolescents.
• Exceptional skills in building rapport and fostering relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
• Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems and digital communication platforms.

Preferred Experience

• Experience conducting school-based interventions and familiarity with educational policies related to student mental health.
• Previous involvement in outreach programs aimed at enhancing community engagement.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care practices and crisis intervention strategies.

Compensation and Benefits
