Work Environment

This role operates remotely, providing flexibility and the ability to connect with students from different locations. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct individual therapy sessions via secure video conferencing to address students' emotional and psychological needs.
• Facilitate group therapy sessions, addressing common issues faced by students, such as anxiety, depression, and interpersonal challenges.
• Perform comprehensive assessments to identify students’ mental health needs and formulate personalized treatment plans.
• Implement crisis intervention strategies, empowering students to develop coping mechanisms while ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of therapy sessions and patient progress using our electronic health systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with educators and school administrators to identify students at risk and implement intervention strategies that promote academic and emotional success.
• Provide parents with guidance and resources to better support their children’s mental health and facilitate open communication between families and the school.
• Stay current on best practices and regulatory changes in mental health care by participating in continuing education and professional development opportunities.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily work with school-aged children and adolescents facing a myriad of challenges, including but not limited to anxiety disorders, mood disorders, behavioral issues, and social difficulties. Your expertise will create a safe space for these young individuals to explore their feelings and facilitate their growth into resilient, self-aware adults. You will also work closely with families, ensuring a holistic approach to each student's mental health.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Social Work or a closely related field.
• An active Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license in California is mandatory.
• A minimum of two years of post-graduate clinical social work experience, with a focus on child and adolescent mental health preferred.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in school-based counseling or child psychology.
• Familiarity with trauma-informed care practices and interventions.
