Licensed Clinical Social Worker - Remote School-Based Mental Health Specialist

Harmony in Mental Health Coalition Service is seeking a dedicated Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our team as a Remote School-Based Mental Health Specialist. Work Environment

This position offers the flexibility of remote work while being closely integrated with school settings in Norwalk, Connecticut. You will have the chance to connect with students and educators, facilitating mental health interventions within a familiar educational context. We understand that each client’s needs can vary; therefore, our scheduling includes flexible hours, which may encompass evenings and weekends to accommodate the unique schedules of our student population and their families.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth psychosocial assessments to evaluate students' mental health challenges, strengths, and resources, helping to devise effective treatment strategies.
• Deliver individual, family, and group therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy and trauma-informed care approaches.
• Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans tailored to each student's specific needs and educational goals.
• Engage in collaborative efforts with educators, school psychologists, and other health professionals to ensure a holistic approach to each student’s mental health care.
• Provide crisis intervention and risk assessment, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for students in distress.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions and treatments in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Organize and facilitate group therapy sessions, psychoeducation classes, and support groups for students and their families.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this role is on students ranging from early childhood to high school. Many of these individuals face challenges such as anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, and trauma. Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• Current state licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
• At least two years of experience in a clinical or outpatient mental health setting, preferably working with children and adolescents.
• Proficient knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic modalities and treatment strategies.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and assessment skills, enabling effective interactions with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Experience

• Experience integrating mental health services within educational settings.
• Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and the educational support system.
• Demonstrated success in delivering therapy to diverse populations.

Compensation and Benefits
