Surgical Assistant – Oral Surgery Practice

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour (based on experience)

We are seeking an energetic, detail-oriented Surgical Assistant to join our busy and patient-focused oral surgery practice. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment and is passionate about providing exceptional patient care.

As a Surgical Assistant, you will work directly alongside the surgeon and clinical team to ensure safe, efficient, and successful surgical procedures. From preparing treatment rooms and assisting during surgery to supporting patients throughout their recovery, you will play a key role in delivering an outstanding patient experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms, surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures
• Assist the surgeon during oral surgery procedures while maintaining a sterile environment
• Follow strict infection control and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety
• Support patient positioning, suturing assistance, and wound care during procedures
• Monitor patient vital signs and overall condition throughout treatment
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient care and education
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with office protocols
• Deliver compassionate, professional care to patients and their families

Qualifications & Skills

• Previous surgical assisting experience preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols precisely
• Active listening skills with a willingness to ask questions and seek clarification when needed
• Positive attitude and openness to coaching and continuous learning
• Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced surgical environment
• Bilingual Spanish-speaking candidates are encouraged to apply

Schedule & Locations

This position requires travel between our Wheaton and Schaumburg offices.

Monday: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM (Wheaton)
Tuesday: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM (Schaumburg)
Wednesday: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM (Wheaton)
Thursday: 7:30 AM – 12:30 PM (Schaumburg)
Friday: 7:30 AM – 12:00 PM (Schaumburg) and 1:30 PM – 5:00 PM (Wheaton)

Friday Travel Compensation:
The practice pays employees for travel time between offices, including mileage reimbursement and toll expenses.
