Key Responsibilities

• Provide immediate, comprehensive care to trauma patients, including rapid assessment, resuscitation, surgical intervention, and post-operative management.
• Perform critical surgical procedures, such as emergency laparotomies, thoracotomies, and various orthopedic operations, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and efficacy.
• Engage in collaborative decision-making with other medical professionals, ensuring timely consultations and appropriate transfers as needed for optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in regular trauma rounds, case reviews, and educational conferences aimed at enhancing the skills and knowledge of team members and trainees.
• Contribute to research initiatives and quality improvement projects that seek to advance clinical protocols and elevate the standard of trauma care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our Trauma Center serves a diverse patient population, encountering a wide range of traumatic injuries, from critical car accidents to complex falls and sports-related injuries. You will play a pivotal role in delivering emergency surgical care to patients of all ages and backgrounds, addressing both pediatric and adult trauma cases. Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an accredited residency program in General Surgery, followed by fellowship training in Trauma Surgery, or equivalent experience in a Level I Trauma Center.
• Active and unrestricted board certification in General Surgery.
• Demonstrated proficiency in performing complex trauma surgical procedures with a strong track record in patient care.
• Excellent clinical judgment with the ability to make informed decisions in high-pressure situations, ensuring swift and effective patient care.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills necessary for collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to ongoing education and staying updated on advancements in trauma surgery.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in trauma surgery, particularly within a Level I Trauma Center.
• Experience in managing complex trauma cases and working on research or quality improvement initiatives related to trauma care.
• Previous involvement in teaching or mentoring medical students and residents is advantageous.
