Full Time Medical Technologist at Phoenix AZ in Community Health Diagnostic Center

Work Schedule:

  • Full time
  • 16-40 hours per week
  • Occasional on-call responsibilities shared among the team.

Salary:

$70k to $100k a year

Job Responsibilities:

  • Exhibits familiarity with and adherence to all departmental rules and guidelines pertinent to the range of tasks, including safety regulations.
  • Completes, logs, and assesses planned quality control. When QC data deviates from predetermined boundaries, prompt remedial action is implemented.
  • Conducts routine equipment maintenance and keeps track of it. Acknowledges and records subpar instrument performance and independently performs the necessary action.
  • Before conducting testing, confirms the appropriateness, integrity, and labeling of the specimen.
  • Accurately completes testing procedures with varying degrees of complexity in accordance with established protocols and legal requirements.
  • Properly and accurately reports test results. reports important test findings in accordance with protocol to the doctor, the nursing station, or the doctor's office.
  • Capacity to set priorities in order to stay as productive as possible. uses downtime to help out when it's required in other areas.
  • Follows the policies and procedures of the laboratory when performing phlebotomy.
  • Keeps an eye on the inventory of materials and takes the necessary steps to guarantee that they are easily accessible.
  • Examines the work that clinical laboratory assistants have completed. carries out remedial actions as needed.
  • Completes assigned work without guidance from a supervisor.
  • Verifies that the work reported by the designated department is accurate. reviews pending logs, review lists, and similar documents. Solves issues right away and, as necessary, talks with the next shift, nurses, and doctors. individually troubleshoots analyzers by making calls to tech support, among other methods.

Qualities

  • State licensure or eligible as a Medical Technologist under the provisions of Chapter 483
  • Requires licensure in the specialties of Microbiology, Serology/Immunology, Immunohematology, Clinical Chemistry, and/or Hematology based on areas where employed
  • Medical Technologist with a minimum of 1 year of current experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Competent Computer skills
  • Ability to use complex medical equipment

  • Great bedside manner

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
