Full-Time Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) Needed at Park Avenue Psychotherapy Clinic.

Work Schedule:

Regular workweek 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities:

- Conduct mental health assessments on senior people in order to determine their individual care requirements.

- Offer individual and group therapy to help people deal with the emotional issues that come with aging and life transitions.

- Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to create comprehensive care plans for elderly residents.

- Educate both staff and family on ways for improving emotional well-being and general quality of life for the elderly.

- Provide grief and loss counseling to residents and their families dealing with end-of-life difficulties.

- Implement cognitive stimulation programs and mental health therapies to improve elderly people's mental acuity and well-being.

Requirements:

- A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an approved college or university is required.

- Hold a current Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) license.

- Have at least 4 years of recent geriatric counseling and mental health support experience.

- It is preferable to have further training or expertise in geriatric mental health and aging-related disorders.

- Proven expertise providing counseling services to older people with a variety of mental health issues.

- Knowledge of evidence-based strategies for supporting mental health in the elderly.

- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to interact with older residents.

- Demonstrate empathy and cultural awareness when assisting older persons from varied backgrounds.

- The ability to perform comprehensive assessments and create tailored treatment plans.

- Understanding of ethical and legal guidelines in geriatric mental health counseling.

Salary:

$90,000-105,000 Each year, with a bonus
