Work Schedule Monday to Friday (8 hours a day)

Salary: $160,000 - $200,000 yearly

Responsibilities

  • Under the guidance of a licensed physician, conduct thorough medical assessments of patients with real or potential acute and/or chronic health issues to ascertain their physical, emotional, and social well-being. This involves obtaining a comprehensive medical history, conducting physical examinations, initiating screening and diagnostic procedures, evaluating clinical findings and laboratory test results, establishing a medical diagnosis, and promptly reporting any abnormalities to a physician.
  • Identify and manage common illnesses and health problems within an outpatient clinical setting. Refer cases requiring immediate medical attention to the appropriate practicing physician and assume ongoing responsibility for follow-ups.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other medical professionals, as needed, to plan a comprehensive care program. Order appropriate treatments, prescribe/regulate medications based on physician-agreed standards, and administer medication under physician supervision. Monitor individual responses to medication and provide necessary education to individuals and their families.
  • Order, evaluate, and interpret a variety of diagnostic and laboratory tests, including x-rays, blood counts, chemistry panels, lipid panels, liver function tests, medication levels, EKGs, etc.
  • Review patient charts, maintain accurate records of assessments, evaluations, administered nursing/medical care, patient responses, and follow-ups. Utilize electronic health record systems following established protocols and procedures.
  • Educate and counsel patients, parents, or family members on health maintenance in the specialized area. Provide information and skills necessary for maintaining and improving health, advocating for good physical health, and emphasizing disease prevention.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated patient care and facilitate referrals to other health or social agencies.
  • Perform and monitor therapeutic procedures while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with legal standards and County regulations.

Requirements:

Qualifications for this position include a combination of training, education, and/or experience that equips individuals with the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to meet the conditions of employment.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies.

  • Successful completion of an approved Physician Assistant training program leading to licensure as a Physician Assistant, as issued by the Physician Assistant Committee of the Medical Board.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Physician Assistant, demonstrating the ability to provide comprehensive care for ambulatory patients independently in specialized areas.

  • Valid license to practice as a Physician Assistant issued by the Physician Assistants Committee of the Medical Board of the State.

  • Maintained a valid DEA number and registration.

  • Within one year of appointment, the candidate must possess and maintain National Physician Assistant Certification.
